Rabbi Yochanan Salazar from North Miami Beach, Florida, spent two days restoring two of our Torah scrolls. He also held a 3-hour session for our “Torah Keepers”; this included instruction on proper cleaning and caring for our Torahs. On the second day, the rabbi spoke to a full house of our congregants and invited guests about the preparation of the parchment from Kosher animals, the making of special ink, and the use of a feather quill.

The Torahs were rededicated in 2012 on Erev Rosh Hashanah. A special thank you to all who took part in this program and to Rabbi Salazar, who worked so diligently.
